This waterproof arbour cover is designed specifically for the AFK Cottage arbour.  It is heavy duty, long lasting and tailored to offer supreme all weather protection all year round.

The beautiful Cottage arbour (manufactured by British manufacturers AFK) deserves the finest cover to match the quality of AFK’s stunning arbour.  Hence we have shaped and designed our waterproof arbour cover with practicality, longevity, and style in mind.  Our cottage arbour cover is shaped for a good fit which includes being fitted to the same curvature of the arbours top.

This waterproof cottage arbour cover features an easy to use roll up zipped panel, which features strong adjustable straps and clips, and heavy duty zips.  The front zip up panel:

  • makes it a lot easier to get the cover on and off – we recommend unzip the cover before taking on/off.
  • allows you quick and easy access into the arbour even with the cover on.
  • allow breathability to the arbour whilst the cover is in place.

We put a neat binding over the seams of this cover which adds to the attractive cosmetics as well as adding slightly more protection to seams.

Important care tips: We advise to air your arbour regularly, and in the summer months when it is hot it is best to remove the cover for periods of time to enjoy the beauty of the AFK arbour.  If you find that the peak/top part of your arbour is sharp then we do advise to pad it out before putting the cover in place.

This cover is specifically designed for the AFK Cottage Arbour, as AFK make a few other beautiful arbours we advise please check that your arbour is definitely the Cottage arbour.

We also advise to double check measurements, you should find that our cover is slightly bigger on the length and width.  You should find our cover less in height- as ideally there should be a gap at the ground.

The measurements we show are approximately what we finish the cover to.

Please consider that when a cover is larger on the length and width it will mean that the height of the cover will end up being slightly more than the height stated.  As the cover drops slightly around the sides so the seams land over the edges.

This textile is truly 100% waterproof this is superior to ‘water-resistant’.  PVC-ST can take an extremely high volume and pressure of water.

It also has excellent UV stability.

This cover features strong brass eyelets frequently spaced around the bottom, with thick robust elasticated shock cord to thread through and secure in place.

Shock cord can be tucked beneath feet/legs on some items of furniture.  It is also very easy to replace or amend.

Are there any care tips?

Always ensure that your arbour and the inside of the cover is clean and dry before putting the cover in place.

Air your arbour regularly- this means rolling up the front panel as well as also removing the whole cover for periods of time.

When the cover is not in use keep it neatly folded somewhere safe.

Always use the brass eyelets and shock cord to secure the cover in place.

After a period of 1 year, use silicone spray or wax on the zips teeth to keep it clean and running smoothly, and repeat every 6 months.

Never leave a zip partly undone, if the front panel is down the zip should be fully used

How do I clean/maintain this cover?

Due to PVC-ST being non-porous, it means heavy rain will wash away most dirt and grime for you! But to clean it properly just give it a wipe with a wet sponge or use a hose pipe on low setting.

Since this cover has a zip, we advise after a period of 1 year, use silicone spray or wax on the zips teeth to keep it clean and running smoothly, and repeat every 6 months.

How do you secure the cover in place?

We supply a strong elasticated shock cord which you thread through the brass eyelets around the bottom of the cover, pull tight and tie a knot. For this arbour we suggest thread the cord through sides and back, tie a neat bow around each front leg of the arbour. This allows the front panel to be easily rolled up and down without the shock cord needing to be removed. However, if you are somewhere very exposed to the elements we do suggest threading the cord all the way around the bottom of the cover.

How thick is the textile?

We use a 580-600gsm PVC-ST which is classed as a heavy duty textile, this is also why it is so long lasting and strong.

What happens if this cover does not fit?

We supply lots of information on the measurements of this cover to try and avoid this situation. But if in the instance it does not fit, please get in touch with us straight away or within 14 days so we may help organise your return/refund or exchange subject to our terms and conditions.
